12 hours from when the vault was created. Nobody — not even the host — can play back clips before that. You can pay a small fee inside the app to "End the night early" if you can't wait.
Each prompt has a 45-minute window. Once it expires, that slot is gone — but a new prompt will fire soon for someone in your group. Recording is intentionally rare so the night doesn't become one long film shoot.
Up to 20 people per vault. Share the 6-letter code from inside the session.
Vault Pass is an optional monthly subscription that unlocks unlimited reveals, extends clip storage to 90 days, and gives you all party themes plus a Vault Pass badge. It's billed via the App Store and you can cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Subscriptions.
On iPhone: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → NightVault → Cancel Subscription. Or open NightVault, go to the Vault Pass tab, and tap "Manage Subscription."
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and find your NightVault purchase. Apple usually responds within a few days.
Inside the app: Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, your clips, and your vault membership. Clips inside vaults you don't own stay there (because other people in the vault need them) but are detached from your identity.
If the vault was created less than 7 days ago (90 days for Vault Pass), email us with the session code and we'll help. After that, clips are permanently deleted from our servers.
By design. If everyone could record whenever, one person ends up filming everything and the night becomes a documentary instead of a party. Random prompts keep things spontaneous and spread the recording across your whole crew.
NightVault has a drink counter — but it's a tracking tool, not a goal. Always know your limit, drink water, never get behind the wheel after drinking, and look out for your friends.
